Test Your Digital camera

Upon receiving your Panasonic (model DMC-TZ11-GN-S) digital camera, you’ll want to make sure that it’s working correctly before using it for an important event or occasion. Going over a few basics will help you test your camera properly. Learn how to charge the camera battery correctly, insert the battery and memory card into your camera, turn the camera on, take a picture using the camera’s automatic settings, utilize the zoom function, automatically focus your subject, and review pictures you’ve already taken.

1.Charge the camera battery before operating the camera. Plug the AC adapter into the charging station and insert the battery, receptors facing down, into the charger. Watch the charge light to gauge the charging progress. The light will remain on for approximately 120 minutes for a full charge, and will turn off when complete. Remove the battery from the charger.

2.Install the battery and memory card inside the camera. Turn the camera upside down and press the battery release lever with your fingertip. Insert the camera battery, receptors facing down, into the battery chamber. Orient the battery so that the label is facing the direction of the monitor. Insert a memory card into the slot beside the battery chamber, and close the Battery Cover door.

3.Prepare the camera to take a picture using automatic settings by first turning the camera on using the “Power” switch located next to the left of the “Shutter Release” button on top of the camera. Set the “Mode” switch located in the upper right corner of the back of the camera to the camera icon. And twist the knob above the monitor on top of the camera to “iA” (“Intelligent Auto” mode).

4.Zoom in on and out from the subject using the “Zoom” knob surrounding the “Shutter Release” button. Pull the knob counterclockwise with your finger to zoom in on the subject, or push the knob counter-clockwise to zoom out from your subject.

5.Frame your subject inside the focus brackets inside the camera monitor. When you are satisfied with your composition, hold the “Shutter Release” button down halfway. This will bring your subject into focus automatically. Fully depress the “Shutter Release” button to take the picture.
